：The academic research of national local chronicles has achieved remarkable and fruitful results in the two rounds of large-scale national chronicle compilation since the reform and opening-up.Based on a large number of relevant papers contained in the database China Social Science Excellence，this paper systematically combs and analyzes the development process，main characteristics and existing problems of academic research on local chronicles in the second round of national chronicle compilation period（2001-2020）to reflect its basic situation from a certain aspect.

：It is of important practical significance to investigate the categories of Local Chronicles Study whether for realizing its macro and micro synergy or deepening its theoretical research.On the basis of learning from the existing achievements in the category research of Local Chronicles Study in the academic world and combining with the theoretical research and compilation practice of local chronicles，this paper puts forward five pairs of basic categories of Local Chronicles Study，namely，purpose and style，subject and object，compilation and application，inheritance and innovation，theory and practice of local chronicles，in the hope to contribute to the systematic and in-depth research of the basic categories of Local Chronicles Study.

The discipline construction of local chronicles has made great progress since the 1980s.However，there are still some problems in this respect，such as lack of marked improvement in discipline status of local chronicles，weakness of talent development，and shortage of rich and prominent results in academic research and discipline construction.Various factors contribute to this situation，but the main reason is the neglect of discipline construction of local chronicles.The Local Chronicles Study community should work out to find the solutions to this matter.It is very important for the construction and development of the discipline of local chronicles in the new era to examine the basic situation，review the achievements，face up to the existing problems，sum up experience and retrospect on shortcomings，and clarify the connotation and tasks of the discipline construction of local chronicles.

With the completion of the compilation of the first and second rounds of new local chronicles in various provinces and cities，the compilation of bibliographic abstracts of local chronicles has been carried out one after another to comprehensively understand and systematically analyze the compilation and publication，the basic contents and main characteristics of new local chronicles at all levels，and the writings of bibliographic abstracts of new local chronicles have been successively published.This paper outlines the main bibliographic abstracts of new local chronicles at the national，provincial，city（prefecture），and county（county-level city and district）levels by administrative division level，with a view to providing some clues for researchers and users of local chronicles.

Some cities and counties in Zhejiang Province began to compile libraries records since the1980s.Ningbo has completed the compilation of libraries records three times in a row.This paper analyzes the origins of the compilation of the three volumes of libraries records in Ningbo and concludes that the compilation of records for the preservation of history and the expansion of influence are the important reasons for their compilation；after making a horizontal and vertical comparisonof the three volumes，it is found that they have inherited relationships in the selection of materials，the compilation of maps，and the arrangement of catalog and content of the records，as well as their own remarkable characteristics of the times；by comparing and analyzing the libraries records，annals of library undertaking and library histories，it argues that the three libraries records in Ningbo all belong to the annals of library undertaking which outline the general situation of various libraries in Ningbo.The compilation of libraries records in Ningbo not only promoted the development of Ningbo library undertaking and the progress of Ningbo local chronicle cause，but also suggested that the development of local chronicle cause need to work hand in hand with other cultural undertakings for win-win cooperation.

Records of Lianxi is a series of documents compiled by focusing on the thinker Zhou Dunyi of the early Song Dynasty.It is a collection of Zhou’s works compiled by means of local chronicles by giving full play to the advantages of the style of chronicles free from the limits of specific places and individuals，which provides a reference for the innovation in the compilation methods of chronicles.The compilation of chronicles needs to keep pace with the times by adding overseas historical materials，image records，audio-visual documents，using of non-Chinese characters in an appropriate degree，and applying a variety of titles in a flexible way to enrich the historical materials of chronicles，expand the styles of chronicles，and solve the problems raised by the development of the times.

The study of local comprehensive historiography is a necessary supplement and realistic interpretation of the tradition of“grand narrative”.During the Northern Song and Southern Song dynasties，the social，economic，and cultural central core of China began to shift to the regions south of the Yangtze River.It is of great historical value and practical significance to study this turning point.Under this context，local history also had multiple perspectives of“comprehensive historiography”which provide mature conditions for the study of the Northern Song and Southern Song dynasties.During this period，cities began to sprout up all over China，thus showing typical regional characteristics.The study of the Northern Song and Southern Song dynasties is different from the history of the Song Dynasty and has its own system.Its core is to study the changes and turns of China’s social economy，political system，and civilization inheritance in the period of the Northern Song and Southern Song dynasties in order to provide historical reference and reflection for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Based on the existing literature and archaeological research results，it is possible to depict the real scene of market transactions and technological evolution at that time in the perspective of interdisciplinary and comprehensive research to prepare for the opening of the system project of multidisciplinary research of the study of the Northern Song and Southern Song dynasties.

The audit officials in the Republic of China had a profound influence on the audit system and its management.Sun Baoqi was a politician born in an official family in Zhejiang Province and once an influential figure in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.He devoted himself to learning since childhood and was proficient in French and code.His good command in the second language smoothed the channels for his life development.He cared about the future of the country，actively offered advice and suggestions，advocated learning from the West，and sympathized with the revolutionary cause.In his later political career，he attached importance to legislation and strict law enforcement，taking the rule of law as an important part of audit management.He presided over or led the formulation of most audit laws and regulations in the period of the Beiyang Government.Sun Baoqi aimed at strengthening audit management，including enhancing the moral cultivation and ideological education of auditors，and giving full play to the role of audit in increasing income and reducing expenditure and economic supervision.He was a man of integrity and exemplary figure highly admired and learned from by later generations.

Otani Kozui was a modern Japanese religionist and explorer，as well as an active“China hand”in China for a long time.His activities and engagement in Shanghai lasted for nearly half a century，mainly including：repeated expeditions in Shanghai from the late1900s to in and around 1920，and dispatching of his disciples to participate in the Revolution of 1911.From the 1920s to1940s，he began to advocate being tough on China and put forward a relatively detailed colonial program during Japan’s comprehensive invasion of China.In addition，by taking the strongholds of“carefree garden”and his residence in Shanghai，he toured the garden，wrote poetry，and tasted delicious food while engaging in infiltration activities and the so-called talent training for co-prosperity of Asia，providing support for Japan’s invasion of China.

Rickshaw pullers developed into a large population with the introduction of man-driven rickshaws.They could not make their voices heard and had no power to safeguard their rights and interests as a vulnerable group.The Shanghai Rickshaw Pullers Trade Union played an important role in safeguarding the rights and interests of rickshaw pullers，developing welfare programs for them and mediating labor disputes in the period of the Republic of China.

Taking Fang Yuegongas the main research object，this paper is preliminary research on the origin，circulation，and influence of the worship of Fang Yuegong enshrined in Jinshanwei City God Temple and Shuangque Memorial Hall of Magistrate Fang in Shanghai.Fang Yuegong was once the magistrate of Songjiang Prefecture and was later promoted to the Grand Scholar of Eastern Palace in the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty.He was well-known among his contemporaries in the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty but was rarely known by later generations.However，the worship to him in Shanghai region was a sound proof of his influence on the local area.Therefore，it is necessary to comb and explore the historical evolution in this respect.

Tang Daoshen，the manager of China Merchants Steam Navigation Company，privately set up Changyutai Shipping Company，and owed the agency more than 10，000 taels of transportation expenses；he also co-founded a warehouse and refused to pay the loans of more than 20，000 taels.As a result，he was severely punished by the deputy general manager Ma Jianzhong under the order of Li Hongzhang till the group of Cantonese was disbanded.This Tang Daoshen has always been regarded as Tang Tinggeng in the academic world.Tang Tinggeng was the younger brother of the general manager Tang Tingshu，who bore the brand of attaining private ends by abusing public position because of this.Through textual research，the author concludes that this Tang Daoshen was not Tang Tinggeng，but a cousin of the same clan.This paper intends to demonstrate this.

Located in the downtown area of Ji’nan，Daming Lake is an important landmark of Ji’nan City，Shandong Province.This paper discusses the name change process of Daming Lake after conducting textual research of historical literature of Jinan.“Daming Lake”was not a commonly used name prior to the Yuan Dynasty；the“Daming Lake”in Commentary on the Water Classic is not the same lake as today’s Daming Lake；although it is same as the official name of the Ming Dynasty，the name of“Daming Lake”has nothing to do with it because it existed before the founding of the Ming Dynasty，so it was not renamed in the early Qing Dynasty.
