New opportunities to generate advantages of industry competition

China Textile Innovation Conference was held in Beijing, 11 December, 2014. The meeting sponsored by China National Textile And Apparel Council gained support from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and assistance from Innovation Park of Chinas Textile and Apparel Brand/ Fashion Valley, Bros Eastern Co, Cotton Incorporated, Suzhou CINC Textile Technologies Stock Corp., Oerlikon Manmade Fibers, Shanghai Skytex Co.. It attracted over 500 attendances, among which there were leaders, experts, enterprises and the media from MIIT, all departments of CNTAC, professional associations, the domestic textile and apparel industrial clusters, textile and apparel enterprises at home and abroad and colleges of textile and apparel.

Those who attended the meeting in- volved Zhu Hongren, chief engineer and member of MIITs party group, Wang Wei, deputy director of department of consumer goods industry, Wang Tiankai, president of CNTAC, Du Yuzhou, former president of CNTAC, and etc.

Key topics: discover and regenerate

Chinas macroeconomic situation has been changing all the time due to economic instability of world, causing increasingly prominent structural contradictions of textile industry. Facing the situation, how Chinas textile industry adjust to this“new normal” economy both nationally and internationally to seek new opportunities of gaining competition advantages and realize sustainable development? Following ideas show us profound interpretations of innovation paths and models.

Wang Tiankai: innovation impels development and unlocks future

To respond to the strategy of innovation-driven development put forward in 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, it is necessary for Chinas textile industry to form new core competition advantage through independent innovation in order to fit in with the needs of new normal. Six steps can be done to guarantee innovation:

·First, emphasize key field to intensify core effects of technological innovation;

·Second, focus on the market to enhance motivation of innovation;

·Third, improve mechanism construction to integrate innovation resource effectively and promote innovation efficiency;

·Fourth, optimize innovation environment to bring medium-sized enterprises and micro-enterprises into full play;

·Fifth, gather talents to reinforce innovation servic;

·Sixth, open wider to the outside world to optimize the distribution of resource.

Zhu Hongren: discover opportunities to recreate new concept, model and type of business

To drive technological innovation in textile industry, four points need to be emphasized.

·First, figure out major directions of technological innovation and follow worlds textile technological development;

·Second, gather and cultivate innovative talents in various areas;

·Third, promote mechanisms to complete transformation from independent innovation to collaborative innovation;

·Fourth, cooperate actively to fit in international innovative network.

Sun Ruizhe: envisage the new normal and build new dream

When referring to remodeling and regeneration of industrial competition advantages, Sun pointed that the key lies in strengthening and elevating innovation strength featuring material capacity, consumption power featuring fashionoriented, responsibility driven by environmental protection and coagulative power based on social favor. Moreover, innovation of technology, pattern and thinking methods should be emphasized.

Then went into the Topic of Forum Session, which was demand of end market and topological analysts of industrial internationalization. In this part, Chen Dapeng, standing vice-president of China National Garment Association, Yang Zhaohua, president of Chinas home textiles industry association, Li Lingshen, president of Chinas technical textiles association, Xu Yingxin, standing vice-president of CCPIT sub-council of textile industry made profound analysis and interpretation.

Chen Dapeng elaborated his idea on innovative development of clothing industry. He indicated that enterprises and brand with sustainable innovation would take it as enterprise culture more than a slogan. Development and promotion of enterprises rely on innovation based on consumers and market.

Yang Zhaohua summarized development situation of household textiles industry in the first three quarters and introduced changes in market, channel and product mix. Meantime, he pointed out that rapid development of internet and birth of industrial 4.0 revolution provide golden opportunities and rooms for development.

Li Lingshen expanded development feature, analysis of technological development trend, outlook of tendency, development proposal of technical textile industry and market opportunity, strategic opportunity and development opportunity of industry during the Thirteenth Five-year Plan by detailed and accurate data

Xu Yingxin mentioned that transnational layout is an inevitable choice of transformation and upgrading of industry against the macro-background of constant upgrading of national strategy and global expansion of capital. Moreover, he made an in-depth analysis on issues such as weather capacity rebalance would weaken international competitive advantage of Chinas textile industry.

During the conference, the host held two award ceremonies which were the Third Management Innovation Award on Textiles and 2014 CNTAC Innovation Award on Textiles Development, and gave commendation to award-winning companies.
