The Beijing Winter Olympics promotion song ， “Together for a Shared Future” （《一起向未来》） is well-known. Our school also had the honor of presenting this song in support of the Beijing Olympics.

We were standing on the stage， wrapped in graceful beams of light. We reached out as if to hug; we spun （转圈） with our arms extended into wings. Sometimes we were spread out like snowflakes falling in the soft wind， other times we were gathered together and united under the spirit of the Olympics. As we danced， we knew that what we were dancing to was more than just a song， it is the spirit of 2022 Beijing Olympics.

Created by gathering the ideas of the public， this song holds the values and prospects of our society. The energetic melody （旋律） calls on us to join in the wave of sports， and achieve the dream to build a “leading sports nation ” （体育强国）， the touching lyrics tell us to join together as one to pursue unity， peace， and progress.

Ongoing and never ending， the same hope was once again expressed in another song on the opening of the Beijing Olympics — “Snowflakes” （《雪花》）. 5 hundreds young children swirled into the stage. They carried white doves on simple sticks， shining in the dark night， leaving trails of stars behind them. Some were running close to each other， some were chasing one after another， all flying with uniqueness and innocence to the music.

“Small is the fire， yet it lasts forever， eternal long and endlessly burning.” On the final moment of the Olympics Opening Ceremony， a small torch， a bright flame was placed on the center snowflake， surrounded by pure doves. It burned through the winter winds; it burned through the disasters all of human kind had faced. “Together for a shared future”， “Shining all the same”， we are stepping into the future holding hands. Just as President Xi had said， we shall build a “community of common destiny for all” （人類命运共同体）.
