Caffeine is a stimulant (兴奋剂), which means it makes people feelmore alert and awake for a short time, but it can also make it hard to sleep, which affectsconcentration. Coffee is a drink for adults. Although there hasnt been much research onhow coffee affects young people, lots of studies show the impact it can have on adults. Caf?feine affects blood pressure and disturbs sleep, which can make people feel stressed, worn out and unable to concentrate. This would be bad news for teenagers preparing fortests or exams. Some scientists think caffeine is addictive. In other words, the more of it youdrink, the more you will need.

4 But why focus on coffee? Young people already get caffeine from other drinks likecola, tea and energy drinks. Caffeine is also found in chocolate and some medicines.
