Hu Shisheng

Abstract: Dong Lang Area (Doklam) Standoff, a crisis created mainly by New Delhi on purpose, was the first large-scale military confrontation maneuvered between India and China ever since 1987. The crisis was not only the negative development of accumulated bilateral differences and conflicts in recent years, but also the latest demonstration of mutual strategic mistrust between the two countries. It indicates that Sino-Indian relations are entering a new era, in which structural differences and contradictions between China and India are much more acute, much more prevailing over the bilateral complementarities.
