ZTECorporation,a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and networking solutions,announced on May 11,2010 that ZTE Corporation and Innofideihave jointly delivered a significant breakthrough for the Time Division Long Term Evolution(TD-LTE)industry with the industry’s first successful Inter-Operability Test(IOT)of multiple TD-LTEUSB dongles in a single mobile network cell.The successful test was first performed in Hong Kong,and subsequently in Shanghaiduring the opening days of Shanghai World Expo.Using the ZTETD-LTE Shanghaifield network,a number of TD-LTEUSB dongles provided by Innofideiaccessed the field TD-LTE cell simultaneously to provide a number of diversified services including streaming and FTPservices,among others.
Innofidei Inc.,China’s largest mobile TVchip maker,has been actively promoting the development of the TD-LTEindustry and in 2007 began its TD-LTEbaseband project in partnership with the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited(ASTRI).In recognition of its industry leadership,Innofideiwon the bid to provide 4G TD-LTEdata cards as part of the ShanghaiWorld Expo TD-LTEterminal project in early 2010.In April this year,Innofideiand ASTRI released the first TD-LTEbaseband chip for the 20MHz TD-LTE bandwidth,which is also in use at Shanghai World Expo.
ZTECorporation has been leading the Time Division Duplex(TDD)industry through strong innovation and product development capability,and continues to invest in the industry to maintain this lead.ZTECorporation is the first Chinese telecoms equipment provider to pass TD-LTEindoor phase Itest,field test and indoor phase IItest organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China(MIIT)and China Mobile.ZTE Corporation has deployed five commercial LTEnetworks to date,and more than 40 trial LTEnetworks with operators throughout Europe,North America,Asia and the Middle East.
