In 2017,Tongling Nonferrous Metals actively responded to the grim and complicated international and domestic situations,and made every effort to overcome difficulties such as rising rigidity of production costs and increasing pressure on safety and environmental protection,etc.by holding on to the overall theme of making steady progress and seizing the market opportunities of rising commodity pricesand copperconcentrate processing rates.New prospects have been revealed through overcoming difficulties,hardworking,deepening reforms and innovations,tapping potential and reducing consumption,improving quality and efficiency,etc. The annual production of copper concentrates contained 47,000 tons of copper,1.287 million tons of copper cathode,9605 kg of gold,385.9 tons of silver,3.783 million tons of sulfuric acid,and 334,000 tons of copper processing materials.The major technical and economic indicators continued to improve,and the energy consumption of products continued to decline.The combined energy consumption of cathode copper and copper strip fell by 10%and over 16%respectively year-on-year.The overall yield of copper processing continued to increase,and the yields of copper strips,lithium foils,copper rods,and brass rods also increased.In 2017,thecompany realized operating income of 82.43 billion yuan,total profitof 1.039 billion yuan,netprofit attributable to parentcompany of548.82 million yuan,total assets of the company at the end of the period of 47.794 billion yuan,and net assets of 18.575 billion yuan.

The company eliminated the backward production capacity and implemented the concept of green development.On April 20,the production system of the Jinchang Smelter was shut down in an all-round manner,with annual reduction of 3006.52 tons of sulfur dioxide and 314.44 tons of smoke dust.The comprehensive utilization and environmentally sound management of hazardous wastes and heavy metal-containing materials were strengthened,sewage diversion conducted and excess emissions eliminated.Related units were urged to rectify the existing problems within a time limit.The company monitored 289 waste gas data throughout the year and a compliance rate of 96.98%,and monitored 2,434 wastewater data,a compliance rate of 98.60%and a steady progress in compliance. Meanwhile,atmospheric emissions of sulfur dioxide decreased by 36%year-on-year,smoke and dust decreased by 70%,ammonia nitrogen decreased by 33.4%;heavy metal lead,arsenic,cadmium andmercuryfrom wastewater discharge decreased by 59%,72%,80%and 64% respectively.The emission reduction effect was significant.

The company has a national-level technology center and national accreditation laboratory that have won a number of national science and technology progress awards,representing the highest mining and smelting level of China’s copperindustry.In2017,the“Anhui Research Center for Copper-based Electronic Materials and Processing Technology Engineering”was approved for building,and the“Copper Processing Engineering and Technology Research Center”was awarded a provincial-level engineering and technology center.The company won three science and technology awards in Anhui Province and four scientific and technological awards given by China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association.One research project was selected as a major science and technology projectin Anhui Province.It obtained 93 authorized patents,among which 2 were granted Anhui Provincial Patent Gold Award.Italso hosted or participated in the drafting of 9 national,industry,and local standards,in which two won the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award.
